Tweet Train - Website

Tweet Train won the Chairman's Award for Design at the 2013 Scottish Design Awards as well as the Item of Self Promotion Award.

We created The Whitespace Tweet Train as a kind of Christmas card for 2012. A toy train looped around the office powered by peoples' tweets using the #tweettrain hashtag.

The speed and direction could be determined by tweeting set words - forward, fast and reverse. The tweets were queued and displayed as if waiting on the platform for the train.

Users could tweet directly from a panel in the top right of the site. The panel had a gear stick that could be controlled to determine what speed or direction was added to the tweet.

The train had a camera on board and there was another static camera looking at the track. The stream from these cameras could be viewed on the site with buttons to switch between the two cameras.

When the page loads, the scenery fades in from the back to the front.

All work featured was carried out through my employment at Whitespace and as part of a project team.
